We have a very generous member, Nelson Amen, who has offered to host us at his hangar at 8T8 – San Geronimo Airpark, on the west side of San Antonio. This is the same member who graciously hosted a group of 17 at his home(s) in Garfield, Colorado.

Date: Saturday, March 7, 2026
Arrival Time: 10:30 a.m. to visit and hang out
Lunch: 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Nelson will be cooking lunch for us, which may include some of the following:

• Chicken

• Sausage & brats

• Beans

• Cole slaw

• Hash browns

• Pie & cookies

• Sweet and unsweetened iced tea

Airport Information (8T8 – San Geronimo Airpark):

• West side of San Antonio

• No fuel available

• 3,000 ft paved runway

• CTAF: 122.9

• Runway: 17/35

• Parking: Grass parking at blue hangar #56, with overflow on the north end of the runway

Nelson has also included a short video showing the hangar location and runway (start of video), with a landing shown at the end — steep turns, stalls, engine oil departs aircraft

There may be a fun “Guess Your Weight” (of your plane) contest using certified scales. More details to come on that. $5 to participate, closest guess wins the pot.
